3 Faces of Terror is an Italian anthology film in the vein of movies like Creepshow and Trick 'R Treat. The wrap-around story deals with 3 people on a train who are approached by a stranger who claims he is a famous hypnotist. Each of the 3 passengers take a turn being hypnotized and this is where their stories take place.

The first character's story is about 2 grave robbers who break into some ruins in order to make some quick money. In the course of the "heist" the main character finds a ring, which he pockets and hides from his friend. The next morning he is compelled to put the ring on, but after doing so is unable to remove it. Somehow, this turns him into a werewolf. That night there is a full moon and he goes on a rampage through the neighborhood. Then, during a pivotal moment, the movie abruptly cuts back to the wraparound story.

This is the sloppy trick this movie pulls; It cuts out 2-3 minutes before the end of each segment in order to try and conceal the big ending reveal. It's not even consistent in ending each segment during a tense or exciting scene. Sometimes you don't even know what's happening before the cut away. The worst part, however, is that you still see the twist coming a mile away, despite this trick the film uses.

It's a shame, because if you can accept the low budget and bad acting, there are some fun, creepy moments in this movie. I just can't forgive this structural technique though. It's lazy and cheap, and it compounds the bad aspects of this movie exponentially. Give this movie a hard pass and go watch V/H/S or Tales from the Crypt or even Cat's Eye. It's not like there's a lack of good horror anthology films available to you.
